This research delves into the foundational elements of the Marseille region, focusing on the sequence of accumulations and erosions that shape the current spatial structure of the city. Situated in the southern region of France, Marseille undergoes continuous formal transformations driven by both natural forces and human activities. The city's existence, its population, infrastructure, and emerging ecologies hinge on a delicate equilibrium maintained through ongoing accumulations and erosions. This study aims to unravel these dynamics, providing insights into the historical and contemporary forces that define Marseille's spatial form and projecting its potential evolution in response to the interplay of natural and anthropogenic factors.
